The Computer Support Specialist will provide assistance to computer system users. They will answer questions or resolve computer problems for employees in person, via telephone or from a remote location. The Computer Support Specialist will provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and equipment, following design or installation specifications.
Oversee the daily performance of computer/network systems.
Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities.
Read technical manuals and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems to provide technical assistance and support.
Assist management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
Assist new employees with cell phone configuration (Apple and Android) and help resolve any issues employees may experience with phone operation.
Associates Degree in an IT related program required.
Proficient computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office. Experience with SQL a plus.
Strong working knowledge of operating systems in a network environment.
Experience with help desk ticketing systems a plus.
Works efficiently under pressure, within deadlines or other time constraints.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly communicate to all levels of the organization.
Performs work in a professional manner with the ability to maintain confidential material.
