IT- Computer Support Specialist

Position Summary/Objective:

The Computer Support Specialist will provide assistance to computer system users. They will answer questions or resolve computer problems for employees in person, via telephone or from a remote location. The Computer Support Specialist will provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

 Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and equipment, following design or installation specifications.

 Oversee the daily performance of computer/network systems.

 Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.

 Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities.

 Read technical manuals and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems to provide technical assistance and support.

 Assist management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.

 Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.

 Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.

 Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.

 Assist new employees with cell phone configuration (Apple and Android) and help resolve any issues employees may experience with phone operation.

Education, and/or Experience:

 Associates Degree in an IT related program required.

 Proficient computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office. Experience with SQL a plus.

 Strong working knowledge of operating systems in a network environment.

 Experience with help desk ticketing systems a plus.

 Works efficiently under pressure, within deadlines or other time constraints.

 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly communicate to all levels of the organization.

 Performs work in a professional manner with the ability to maintain confidential material.

 Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

 Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.

 Willing to learn and apply new skills as needed by management.
